Silviculture is a science, technology, and art on the forest ecosystem founding. Also, silviculture is an applicative and dynamic knowledge, especially on the forest ecosystem founding. Therefore, science and technology about silviculture always must be developed, particularly the silviculture in the tropical regions. The development of science and technology of the silviculture subject must be covering several principle aspects on forest sustainability, such as ecology, economy, and social. In this regard, so the Department of Silviculture Faculty of Forestry of IPB University offers the Postgraduate Program (Master / S2 and Doctoral / S3) with Mayor on Tropical Silviculture. These program based on the Decree of IPB Rector No. 027/KI.3/OT/2007 on March 22, 2017. We supported by 6 Professors and 16 Doctors.
MASTER PROGRAM (S2)
Competency :
- Capable to develop and apply the knowledge, science, and technology of silviculture within the framework of founding and improving the forest ecosystem productivity of both natural and plantation forest, sustainably.
- Capable to develop and apply the knowledge, science, and technology of silviculture on the restoration and rehabilitation of the degraded forest and land based on the sustainable ecosystem.
- Capable to formulate and solve the problems in the forest founding and forest productivity improvement as well as forest ecosystem quality of both natural and plantation forest, sustainably.
- Capable to formulate and solve the problems on restoration and rehabilitation of the degraded forest and land based on the sustainable ecosystem.
